From the impressionists to the co-founder of the Hamburg Secession: a showcase exhibition of selected landscape paintings traces the artistic career of Alma del Banco (1862–1943).

This showing is occasioned by Friederike Weimar’s book on del Banco’s life and work, an opulent monograph with a catalogue of works, which will be presented on 23 October 2011 at the Ernst Barlach Haus. The exhibition and book paint a many-faceted picture of this Jewish painter, who became one of the leading figures of the Hamburg art scene in the 1920s.
